Ginger
Secretary
My name is Kristen Minton, and I am honored to serve as the Secretary for Guardians of the Children, Mooresville Chapter.
I was born and raised right here in Mooresville and am a proud 1992 graduate of Mooresville High School. After high school, I attended CPCC, where I earned my Dental Assisting Certification. I spent many years working as a dental assistant and, along the way, became cross-trained in the administrative side of dentistry. I quickly discovered that I had a passion for keeping the day-to-day operations running smoothly while also being able to use my dental knowledge to connect with and help patients.
I spent more than 20 years in general dentistry before making the move into pediatric dentistry. That decision changed everything for me. I finally found where I belong. Today, I am the Business Leader at Mooresville Pediatric Dentistry, while also helping support our sister offices.
My journey with Guardians of the Children began when my dental office was a vendor at the chapter’s Spring CAPA Ride. My boyfriend participated in the ride that day, and when we got home, he told me he wanted to attend the next chapter meeting to learn more about Guardians and what they were all about. We attended that meeting—and signed up that very day!
Since then, I have thoroughly enjoyed serving the children, our community, and my fellow members throughout my GOC journey. Guardians has given me the opportunity to be part of something much bigger than myself and to make a difference in the lives of children who need someone to stand up for them.
I was fortunate to have a wonderful childhood, with parents who loved, supported, and cared for my sister and me. Because of that, I know what childhood should look like. Every child deserves to feel safe, loved, protected, and supported. No child should ever have to suffer through abuse or neglect.
My road name is Ginger, and I am honored to call Guardians of the Children my family.
The mission of Guardians of the Children is to recognize and react to child abuse and to educate the public to do the same; to serve as advocates who provide strength and stability to families in crisis; and to be an answer to the prayer of an abused child or teen by providing courage, support, and protection.
“Don’t let your silence drown out their cries.”
